Our History

The Foundation was conceived as a nonprofit affiliate of the Pi Lambda Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, and incorporated in the State of Virginia on April 19, 2005.  We were granted an IRS 501 (c)3 status as a Public Charity on February 16, 2007.  Our Foundation is named in honor of Dr. George M. Hampton for his steadfast dedication to providing scholarships to local youth and his commitment to social action that enhances the quality of life for citizens of Prince William County.  Since our inception, the Foundation has contributed thousands of dollars to local youth scholarships and other youth support programs such as mentoring, essay contests, high school talent hunt programs, school supply drives etc.  We also devote considerable funds annually to community service activities including: health fairs, blood drives, Diabetes and Cancer initiatives, food and clothing drives, and more.

Although the Foundation has a broad public focus, its primary mission is to promote and support the scholastic challenges of our youth and the educational underpinnings necessary for successful achievement in tomorrow's society.
